Keynote Session
AI for People Who Don’t Have Time to Learn AI: A Practical Framework for Immediate Productivity in Institutional Research
Artificial intelligence is rapidly changing the way data professionals work, yet most institutional research offices do not have the time or capacity to become AI experts overnight.
In this practical and approachable keynote, Dan will introduce the C.O.R.E. framework (Context, Objectives, Rules, Evidence)—designed specifically for IR professionals who want to begin using AI tools immediately and responsibly.
Attendees will learn how to:
- Produce more consistent outputs using personalization and structured prompting
- Deploy basic AI agents using tools such as Copilot, Custom GPTs, and Gemini
- Explore lightweight automation strategies that help reclaim analyst time for more strategic work
The session will also address important considerations around governance, FERPA boundaries, and responsible AI use, ensuring institutions can explore these tools thoughtfully and safely.
Connecting to Our Conference Theme
Connecting the Pieces: Collaboration for the Win
Institutional research professionals often work at the intersection of data, systems, and decision-making. AI represents another critical piece of that puzzle.
When used thoughtfully and collaboratively, these tools can help IR offices:
- Connect information more efficiently
- Share insights more effectively
- Strengthen their impact across campus
Participants will leave this session with a practical roadmap and low-risk use cases they can begin applying immediately within their own workflows.
We are excited to feature a keynote that reflects both the innovation and collaboration at the heart of the OAIRP community.
Stay tuned for full agenda details and conference registration opening later this month.
