From Draft to Data: Practical Skills for Effective Survey Design and Consultation

Surveys are one of the most common — and most challenging — tools in institutional research. In this hands-on workshop, participants will work through realistic consultation scenarios to sharpen their ability to advise colleagues, draft effective questions, and adapt to new survey contexts. We’ll examine evolving practices such as micro-surveys and inclusive demographic survey items, and reflect on how to apply them effectively on our campuses. Come ready to engage, collaborate, and leave with practical skills, peer connections, and resources to guide your next project. All skill levels are welcome!
